Register first to let us know you’re part of this challenge!
For the Map My City Challenge (submit by May 27th):
Map out a route in the Champaign-Urbana area. Use tools like Plot A Route or the Strava desktop web app to help you plan a perfect picture.
Download Strava and either create an account or log in with Facebook.
Gear up! Set out to conquer your route, on spokes or foot. Click record on Strava at the start of your trek.
Once you have completed the ride, share your route directly from the Strava app by emailing us at mmc@neutralcycle.com! Check out the submit section for step-by-step visual instructions. Feel free to include any discoveries you found or photos you took during your route as well.
Find your route in the Map My City Challenge album found on the Neutral Cycle Facebook page and on the mapmycity.us Instagram page. Share that post to your friends on Facebook and Instagram. The route design with the most combined likes wins!
For the Sponsor Challenge:
Visit each sponsor on the sponsor card and get a sticker for performing the task and asking the sponsor for your sticker! Completed cards will be entered into the sponsor prize raffle. Return your card to Neutral Cycle by June 15th. GPS art routes are NOT required to enter the sponsor challenge raffle.

The ride must be done in one trip, start to finish.
The ride MUST be completed in the Champaign-Urbana Area. Go explore your backyard!
Group riding/ running is allowed – but if this is the case, everyone is responsible to submit their own route and will be held accountable for their own likes in the competition.
Tie breakers: the first person to submit their route wins.
Likes and shares on social media (the “votes”) must be natural and come from your followers and friends. NO cheating!
Absolutely NO graphic images will be accepted for entry.
Map My City reserves the right to choose a different winner if the winner is found to have violated the rules.
Starts April 24 2019, 12am. Designs must be submitted by May 27 2019, at 11:59pm.
Voting will take place from May 28th 2019 to June 15th 2019. Winners will be announced at our wrap party at Neutral Cycle. Details to come.

How long do I have to complete the Map My City Challenge?
Three weeks. You can start on April 24th and the last day to compete is May 27th.
How can I participate?
You must register before you make any moves.
How do I submit my route?
You can email your route straight from the Strava application to us at mmc@neutralcycle.com. Check out our submit section for a step-by-step visual.
Where can I ride?
The Champaign - Urbana metro area! Go explore our backyard.
What if I don’t have a bike?
You’re welcome to use a VeoRide Bike. Just make sure in registration you select VeoRide as your method of travel. Otherwise, feel free to take the route by foot!
Can I go with a group/a friend?
Sure! If you are riding with multiple people, everyone is responsible to submit their own route and will be held accountable for their own vote tally in the competition.
Can children participate?
Of course! Just make sure there is a parent or guardian present.
How do the Sponsor Cards work?
Pick up your Sponsor Card at Neutral Cycle and take it into our sponsors for a sticker! Once your entire card is filled out, turn your card into Neutral Cycle (make sure your name & number is on it!). At the end of the Sponsor Challenge, June 15, we will choose randomly from the submitted full cards winners for the Sponsor Prizes!
Well, what do I make with my route? What if it’s not something recognizable?
Any type of route is fine! But it might be fun to try to make something recognizable like an outline of an animal, or a word, or a even a fun shape. If it’s not recognizable, it’s ok. You did your best and went exploring, right? That’s all we can ask for.
Where and How can I vote?
You can find all of the routes on Neutral Cycle Facebook Page’s Map My City Challenge Album or on the mapmycity.us Instagram. Just give the routes you enjoy the most a “like,” and that will count as a vote. You can also share your route, or your friends route on your own page to rack up those likes. We will also have links up during the voting period on this page.
What if there is a tie?
The first person to send in their route, wins the tie-breaker.
What happens at the end of the Challenge period?
A celebration! Once the Map My City Challenge is completed, we’ll be sending out information to all of our participants about a super-secret award ceremony/party.

The Map My City challenge wants to see YOU design an interesting and creative bike/running route in the Champaign-Urbana area. Go explore – don’t be afraid to go where you’ve never been. Track your route with the Strava application, and then submit your route to us. We’ll take care of the rest!
Your route will then be entered into a competition on Facebook under the Neutral Cycle Map My City Challenge album folder and on the mapmycity.us Instagram page. Here, you can share your route – and show off your masterpiece! The routes with the highest number of combined likes on Facebook and Instagram at the end of the competition will have a chance to win some amazing prizes.
